There is only a week left before spring. However, I don’t think winter wants to leave just yet. There is currently a snowstorm here in Montreal and we are expecting to have a snowfall of up to 40cm. The streets were clear this morning with no traces of snow but they’re now filled with snow. It’s also hard to see because of the decreased visibility. The wind is pretty strong and people are having a hard time walking outside as the snow hits their faces…
So, as I sit here by the window watching the ongoing snowstorm while drinking a cup of warm tea, I can’t help but remember my trip to the Philippines last December.
While I impatiently wait for the snowstorm to calm down a little bit, why don’t I tell you a little bit about my trip?
El Nido, Palawan
[ Here’s a compilation of random footages from our trip. ]
I absolutely miss the beautiful weather and the magnificent views this place had to offer. El Nido is located on the northern part the province of Palawan in the Philippines. It is blessed with incredible coral reefs, white sand beaches, limestone cliffs, etc.
It took us a while to get to El Nido, Palawan. This included our flight being delayed by an hour, and a six-hour bumpy car ride from Puerto Princesa airport to El Nido. We were absolutely tired after the long travel and ended up sleeping as soon as we arrived at our hotel. However, all that struggle was worth it. We went island hopping the next day, which was amazing. Through the help of our tour guide, we got to see many breathtaking sights as we travelled by boat. The island hopping tour allowed us to enjoy the white sand of 7 Commando Beach, explore the Big & Small Lagoon by kayak, and enjoy a nice lunch by the Shimizu Island, where we were also able to snorkel and see corals.
Around lunch time, our boat stopped by the Shimizu Island, along with the other boats. They presented us with a variety of delicious food, including rice, fish, meat, fruits, etc. The presentation of each meal was pretty.
The watermelon was so good! I couldn’t stop eating.
After eating, we enjoyed our time snorkeling.

Although our hotel was not the greatest, our journey in El Nido was absolutely unforgettable. ❤️
I miss the breathtaking underwater sceneries, the stunning scenery of the lagoons & islands, and the beautiful weather.
That’s all for today. Thank you for reading!
Here’s a little update of the snowstorm situation here in Montreal. It’s warmer than before but the heavy snowfall is still ongoing, the roads & sidewalks are filled with snow. It is currently 11 pm, many vehicles are having a hard time. Some are cars and buses are stuck. Bus passengers are helping to push the bus, other drivers are out with their shovels help those in need. The collective teamwork of everyone was definitely a warming sight to see. However, I’m sure it’s going to be worst tomorrow morning. Let’s hope for the best. That’s all.
Good night! ❤️
